Volunteer Sign Up, Apparel Orders, & More
Hello parents,
The swim season is almost upon us. Practices start in two weeks! We have a few items we wanted to update you on before the season commences.
Apparel Order
Our apparel store is open! You can order team suits, t-shirts, hoodies, & more. A team suit is not required for the season. All orders must be in by May 10th.
Volunteer Sign Up Opens Tomorrow
You can sign up for volunteer shifts starting tomorrow morning at 9am. Families are required to fulfill 10 volunteer points and each point is roughly 1 hour. You can also opt out of volunteer hours for $200. Please reach out to me if you’re interested in that option.
Stroke Judges
We are always looking for volunteers to be a stroke judge! It’s an important job that helps kids understand how they can improve their strokes. It’s such an important job that you’ll earn double points for your shifts. However, you do need to be trained as a stroke judge.
If you are new to stroke judging, you’ll need to attend an in-person training on the morning of Saturday, May 20th. If you are a returning stroke judge, you’ll need to attend a zoom meeting on the evening of Tuesday, May 16th. We’ll send out exact times for these when we have them.
In-Meet Volunteer Coordinator
This year, we’ve delegated most of the responsibilities of the parent rep to other “coordinator” roles. Thank you to everyone who has stepped up to fill those. We have one last role we need to fill which is the In-Meet Volunteer Coordinator.
The main responsibilities for this role are emailing volunteers the day before the meet to remind them of their shifts and also to help ensure volunteers are at their shifts on meet days. This role fulfills all your volunteer point requirements for the season. If you’re interested, please reach out to me.
Parent Rep Needed
Despite delegating much of the responsibilities of the parent rep, we still need them! The role of the parent rep is to support the coordinators and to be the contact person for the league. We have two parent reps at a time and it is a 2-year role. This ensures that there is always an incoming junior parent rep learning the ropes and an outgoing head parent rep who is familiar with the team. This role also fulfills all your volunteer point requirements. I am the head parent rep this year and I’m looking for someone to step up as the incoming parent rep. Please reach out to me if you’re interested!
