Dear Franklin Fish Swim Team Participants,
Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, the Rocky Mountain Swim League (the organization that Franklin Fish are affiliated with) is canceling and/or suspending all current meet schedules in 2020 Summer Swim League. Due to the current limitations and the uncertainty that any aspects of the league will run, South Suburban will not be running our team this summer. We will be issuing full refunds to all who have signed up. Refunds may take time due to South Suburban Staffing at minimum levels.
South Suburban Parks and Recreation is monitoring the State/Local guidelines in regard to social distancing and opening of our pools. We will be exploring potential alternatives for Swim Team activities and will update you on any offerings that might be available. Please stay up to date with all South Suburban facilities and program information by checking ssprd.org.
Thank you, and please stay safe and healthy,
Craig, Jen, and Angie
NOTE: All dates and events are TBD as we determine what is possible during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Welcome Ben Franklin Summer Swim Team
The Ben Franklin Swim Team is sponsored by the South Suburban Parks and Recreation District, and a member of Rocky Mountain Swim League (RMSL). The purpose of the League is to provide an opportunity for kids ages 18 & under to develop swimming skills and gain a positive, recreational experience through competition. There are four divisions, each based on the number of swimmers and ranking of each team. Ben Franklin is in the C Division, comprised of the larger teams. Ben Franklin has had approximately 130 swimmers the last few seasons.
Swimmers are divided into age groups for practices and swim meets events. The age of the swimmer on June 1 determines the age group the swimmer will compete in throughout the summer season. The age group divisions are as follows:
- 6 & Under
- 8 & Under
2019 Season Information
- Swimmers on the Ben Franklin Swim Team are required to register through both South Suburban Parks and Recreation District (SSPRD) and here on Swimtopia.
- Many volunteers are needed to run a successful swim season. All families are responsible for fulfilling a volunteer commitment. We will open signups for volunteer shifts on May 1. This team works because of volunteers like you.
- The registration fee goes to the District to pay League registration fees, coach salaries, swimmer insurance, pool maintenance, and life guards. Booster fees covers insurance and swim team equipment, supplies, and entry fees for Preliminaries.
